I call this "The Treat Smoothie" in our house because there are no greens in it. The rich, creamy texture and sweetness of this smoothie is so different from our daily green smoothie that when we do have it, we think it tastes like candy!
But it's still a perfectly healthy and nutritious snack option!
Full of healthful fats (nut butter), calcium (almond milk), fibre, phytochemical, antioxidants, carbohydrates and potassium (berries and bananas) it's a good option for everyone in the family.
It was also the only smoothie I could stomach during my first trimester and since bananas help with nausea, it was perfect for me!
3 bananas, peeled
1 cup frozen organic blueberries
1 Tbsp natural almond butter (peanut butter works, too)
4 cups unsweetened almond milk
Combine everything in a blender and blend on high until smooth.
